End-of-Year Project Highlights

As the 2025–26 school year drew to a close, our Tamarindo students celebrated a year of project-based learning with end-of-year presentations. On June 12, families gathered on campus to see what students had built, written, filmed, and designed over the final quarter.

The centerpiece was the Little Prince Project (Proyecto El Principito), created by our 3rd–5th graders and inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's beloved story. Students transformed a classroom into a Museum of the Invisible — lit with fairy lights and named for the book's most famous line, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." Visitors were guided through hand-built dioramas, illustrated books, painted bookmarks, and original artwork interpreting the story's planets and characters.

Team2025

Leadership Team & Teaching Staff

This year has been one of incredible growth and accomplishment for Journey School, and none of it would be possible without the dedication of our team. From our leadership team to our teaching staff, from the facilities and grounds teams to our security staff, every individual plays a vital role in the success of our school.

At our annual leadership meeting, we take time to review team performance, reflect on the year, and make decisions about the upcoming school year. For the first time in Journey's history, no team member is being considered for non-renewal. Every individual has been recognized as an essential part of our community, and we are so grateful for the collective strength and commitment they bring.

Chess Team Excels in Tournament

We're proud of our students who represent the school with both skill and sportsmanship.

Students2025

Student Achievements

Our students continue to shine with remarkable achievements. For the third year in a row, they participated in the Model UN, showcasing their critical thinking and diplomacy skills. They also excelled in the National Math Olympics, our first spelling bee, and our first internal Math Olympics.

Most notably, 100% of our students passed the MEP exams this year. This is a monumental achievement for any school, but especially for ours, where many students are not native Spanish speakers. It is even more impressive because these exams are taught in highly academic Spanish, requiring a deep level of fluency and comprehension. This success reflects the unwavering dedication of our team and the resilience and determination of our students.

Sustainability2025

Environmental Initiatives

Our students remain actively involved in sustainability efforts through our botany program and greenhouse projects. They also take pride in caring for our school animals, fostering responsibility and a deep connection to the natural world.

Community2025

Community and Creativity

Many of our students are excelling and performing in a variety of areas throughout the community. From music, dance, horseback riding, enduro racing, surfing, golfing, martial arts, and rock climbing to community-wide theater performances, their talents know no bounds.

Several of our students even took center stage in the most recent theatrical productions, earning admiration for their poise and creativity.
