Our high school program prepares students for success at universities worldwide. As an authorized IB World School, our Tamarindo campus offers the rigorous International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme alongside personalized college counseling and real-world learning experiences.

How high school works at Journey

  • At Journey School of Costa Rica Tamarindo, graduates can earn — in combination, depending on their pathway — three internationally and nationally recognized diplomas:

    • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme — IBO Code 062813
    • Middle States Association U.S. High School Diploma
    • MEP Costa Rican Bachillerato — Ministry of Public Education

Graduation Pathways

Journey School of Costa Rica at Tamarindo offers the following academic pathways and graduation qualifications.

Grade 11

Students may complete the Costa Rican Ministry of Public Education (MEP) requirements for the Bachillerato en Educación Media.

Grade 12

Students may pursue one or more of the following diplomas and may earn them in combination, depending on their academic pathway:

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP)
  • Middle States Association (MSA) U.S. High School Diploma
  • MEP Costa Rican 12th Grade Completion Diploma
